Cash Movement Settings
If you accept cash payments, you must record the deposit and withdrawal of cash in the system using Cash movements. Cash sales and cancellations, initial deposits and withdrawals during closures are so-called system movements and the cash register performs them automatically.
Whenever the cashier takes or adds cash from/to the cash drawer, he must enter the cash movement manually. (You can find out how to do it here.)
In this manual entry, he selects the type of deposit (plus movement) or withdrawal (minus movement) from the menu. You create the options here.
Open Cash movements in a new window:
The window contains a list of created cash movements. Click on the plus icon in the top right corner to create a new one. After clicking on the pencil at the end of the row, you will edit the already created one. (System movements marked with a tick cannot be edited.)
You can switch in the Status column to disable cash movement and thus prevent it from being used (temporarily) at cash registers. System movement cannot be made inactive.
Cash movement examples
Cash revision: if you find out during the inspection that there is more or less cash in the cash drawer than according to the system, you will overwrite the system information by revision
This change (intentionally or unintentionally) masks any deficit or surplus cash, so only responsible employees should be authorized to do so.Deposit in the vault: as soon as the cash in the cash register exceeds the permitted limit, the cashier will transfer part of it in the vault in the office and enter a withdrawal, i.e. a minus operation, at the cash register
Loan from the vault: if the cashier no longer has anything to return in exchange of banknotes of higher value, he borrows (small) coins from the vault in the office and enters a deposit at the cash register, i.e. a plus operation
Lottery intake: if you have a betting terminal in your store and you accept cash from customers intended for this betting (without cash register knowing), it is a plus operation
Lottery payout: if it happens that someone comes to collect his winnings, it will be a minus operation
If the betting terminal has its own cash drawer, you don't have to deal with these movements in the register.
Deposit: create a movement for the deposit if you collect a refundable financial sum from customers for something they are supposed to return (dishes, toilet key or lockers, etc.)
Deposit refund: as soon as the customer brings the item back, the cashier returns the deposit from the drawer and creates the withdrawal
